Assets List

The Assets list have a few possible options available at the top of the windows

1 You can access some features from the Assets menu depending upon the rights and permissions granted

  • Add Assets – Only System Admin users can add assets
  • Export Assets – Admin users can export data in CSV format
  • Import Assets – Admin users can import data in CSV format for either making bulk edit to some assets or even creating multiple new assets from an Excel file

2 A group selection drop-down menu is shown in the asset list header if your user account has access to multiple groups.

Selecting a group will filter the list and map to show only assets from that group.

The box turns yellow to warn you that the asset list is filtered

Yellow badge will be displayed to indicate how many assets are hidden due the active group filter applied

3 The zoom icon on the asset header will zoom to all filtered assets. The icon next to each group will zoom to all filtered assets in that group.
Zoom icons next to each asset will zoom to that individual asset. If an asset has no position then the zoom icon will be hidden in the list.

4 Use this icon to remove all filters you may have applied like a filter age or a filter asset or even if you have selected a special group in the group drop-down menu.
It will simply reset all filters back to default all assets view.

5 The checkbox icon is provided to show / hide the checkboxes in front of each assets or group of assets
You can show or hide those assets on the map using this filter tip (and use this to save some quick view for future recall)

Use the checkbox in the asset list header to toggle all assets, and the check box next to each group to toggle that group only.
Click again the checkbox icon when you have finished your selection of assets.

6 The left box filters by name (asset description, driver name or asset type or IMEI). Entering values here will filter the asset list to display only matching assets. Filtered assets are also hidden on the map. The boxes turn yellow to warn you that the asset list is filtered, and a yellow overlay shows on the asset icon in the title bar to indicate how many assets are hidden.

7 Use this field to enter a number of hours which will result into displaying only assets having sending datas within this last number of hours

Asset Label

Each row in the asset list represents a separate asset.

1 Asset Status and Icon

2 The first row includes the Asset’s description and if the last report time is known, it row will include the report age into brackets.
The second row includes Driver name, Asset tag and Trip status if available. Admin users will also see the Asset ID and device type.

1 The Driver name will be displayed in a blue label. Note this can be optionally used to assign any other form of things to an asset (for example an Identification Plate Number)
2 You can also add a special tag to an Asset that will appear here, it can be edited by opening the Asset configuration. Leave it blank to not display anything here

3 Low-Battery or SOS warning icons + auto zoom-in to Asset location

4 Open the Asset menu

Zoom-In directly to the selected Asset using this icon

They are shown in two parts: a first small coloured dot at the top left of the asset label indicating the current asset state, and a bigger Asset icon that can be customised per asset (or per group)

The first small icon indicating current Asset status are defined below. Asset report age (recent/old) and motion state (moving/stopped) are defined using server settings. Default settings mark reports as old after 3 hours, and assume assets are moving when speed is above 1 km/h.

Moving Asset has reported recently and was moving at last report.
Stopped Asset has reported recently and was stopped at last report.
GPS Estimate Asset has reported recently, but the GPS position was estimated. This will happen when the asset loses GPS signal (e.g. vehicle is inside a building).
Old Data Asset has not reported recently (within the last 3 hours)

The icon foreground can be customized per asset. Here are some examples:

Selected Asset The currently selected asset is shown with a ring around the icon.
Arrow The asset’s last known direction of travel is indicated with a large arrow.
Vehicle icons Various vehicle icons are built-in to the server, including boat, plane, person and car icons.
Direction Asset icons on the map will include a small direction arrow if the asset’s last known direction of travel is known.
Custom colours Admin users may assign custom colours to each asset’s icon. This may be used to quickly identify different asset types or groups on the map. Note that the vehicle overlay will automatically switch to white when the custom colour is dark.
Signal Certain direction-finding assets are shown with a signal strength icon. The icon colour changes to indicate the last known signal strength.

Click on the icon at the end of each asset row to show an action menu.

Transmit request for current position to asset (not shown if user has read only access). This will only work and be available to click if the remote asset is able to receive and display a text message of course. Once the poll request has been initiated, you will see in the message panel list, this new text message appearing and you will know from here if it has been effectively sent to the asset

The asset alarm trigger status is now only used for devices with a remotely controllable trigger state.

If the trigger is active, then the asset list will show an exclamation icon after the asset name. Clicking on this icon (or using the asset reset trigger menu) prompts to reset the trigger remotely. The device user could also reset the trigger (if that is possible via the device’s buttons), in which case the exclamation icon would turn off automatically.

You will see a pop-window giving you the option to reset the trigger state. This would actually send a SOS cancel to the device and shall remotely revert the status to normal on some device type (but most of the time it is more intended to clear a status manually). After which you should not see anymore the warning icon and red label in the asset window (assuming you have of course previously “resolved” the alarm from the platform (which is intended by the way to automatically cancel the alarm and reset the trigger state remotely too).

Some device type will always require a cancelation from the device itself !

Adds a comment that will be display in the message timeline and saved in events. It can be posted by any user that will be tagged also.

When selecting this option, a pop-up will be displayed to confirm whether you want to enable or disable the hot pursuit mode.

When hot pursuit is enabled a binoculars icon appears in the asset row.

This quick geofence option is mostly used to get a notification event when a static asset is suddenly moving from its position.
When the geofence is enabled it will be shown on the asset label with the below icon

Opening this menu will display a pop-up from where you can enable or disable the asset geofence.

1 When you will click on this option it will be required to provide a radius perimeter.
