Points of interest (POI) are special locations that can be saved and displayed on the map. Example usage of POI is saving locations your devices often visit. Points can be shown on the map and when browsing history, and can be also seen in reports. Any user can create a list of POIs for their own convenience – it can be just a couple of places (like HQ, office, factory, etc.) or include hundreds of POIs (for needs of the logistic manager) and then track device visitation of places. All POIs can be shared into a group / sub-group, they can also be imported / exported easily. Each reports received will also be displayed on the web platform with the closest POI distance and direction.
We’ve introduced a quicker and easier way to proceed by simply clicking anywhere on the map where you want to add a POI, a pop-window will appear in the corner of the map from where you will be able to click directly on the Add a POI here button.
You can add more details here such as some specific notes about the POI. The URL field is allowing you to add any external link, it could be as simple as a wikipedia page, or your own specific website page about this POI, or a link ref to a third party app for example. You can also edit the color of the POI icon There’s also a choice to make the POI visible or hidden
One of the convenient things about POI is that you can then use them to ease your analysis work. For example, all the assets reports will display the closest POI distance and direction. When an alert is triggered by an asset, you can then have in the event display the closest POI name, distance and direction.
